Thankfully the Moat House is now run under a more traditional pub/restaurant basis. Deb and Dave have been at the moat House since February 2004. Extensive work has been carried out to the roof and timber frame as well as external decorations. Internal redecoration will be taking place in the Spring 2005 but will not remove any of the natural character of this wonderful old building. The building has benefited from an extension at the rear, completed in the 1980s and this serves as a function room with a capacity of 150. The room is ideal for clubs and societies, birthday parties, christenings, weddings funerals team meetings and conferences. The function room has it’s own bar, AV and computer facilities, 72 inch drop down screen and separate entrance.
The Moat House has a car park for up to 80 vehicles as well as two very large fields that can be used for additional car parking, marquees or other events. In July 2007 The Moat House was badly affected by the floods that devastated many of the communities in rural Worcestershire and Warwickshire. Although the pub was only closed for a week, it was only able to serve drinks for the following twelve months. After a very stressful year of arguing insurance claims and trying to get the work completed we finally reopened on 25th July 2008 with a new menu, new chef and new décor.
The restaurant is now based around the old Tudor Lounge benefiting from a cosier environment and closer proximity to the kitchen. The food is still homemade and quality is still extremely important, but we have made a conscious effort to offer exceptionally good value for money.
The old Cavalier restaurant has now become a more flexible room, offering traditional pub games, flat screen T.V. for sporting events or computer-based competitions and an informal eating environment. The room can also be booked for smaller private functions for between 20 and 40 people. The room is ideal for all kinds of events and has hosted a Christmas Carol concert (with brass band), various birthday parties, all-day meetings for a small companies of up to 30 people, karaoke evenings and live music
