The Moat House has various rooms available for meetings, parties, weddings, christenings, funerals and corporate days

Business Meetings    

The Cottage can accommodate small intimate meetings for up to a dozen people, and is ideal for half day or lunch meetings. We offer the room free of charge for lunch meetings. We charge £10 for half day meeting and £20 for a full day meeting. Coffee is charged at £10 per flask (serves 8-10), and lunch can be ordered from any menu in advance or we can provide you with your own menu and quote accordingly.

The Cavalier Bar can accommodate up to 40 people for informal meetings in small groups. There is a 42-inch TV available and the room is ideal for small networking events. Room hire is free for lunchtime events providing your order food from us. We charge £20 for a half-day event and £40 for a full day event plus any food and drink you consume.

The large function room is our most flexible room and can accommodate up to 120 people for a theatre style presentation. The room is large enough for different layouts (boardroom, horse shoe, small tables of 6-8 etc) and there is a 72-inch screen and overhead projector that can be used in conjunction with most laptop computers currently on the market. We normally charge a daily delegate rate of £15 per person for a basic package, which includes:
  • Coffee on arrival
  • Jugs of water on the tables
  • Mid-morning coffee break
  • Cold buffet lunch and orange juice
  • Afternoon tea or coffee All room hire and use of projector and screen
You can add to this any items you wish, such as, bacon rolls on arrival, hot sit-down lunch, mid-morning pastries, bowls of sweets on the table etc. Please let us know your requirements and we would be glad to quote.

 

Parties


We are used to providing celebration of all kinds, from birthdays, engagements, anniversaries to christenings and leaving do’s. We do parties at lunchtimes, in the afternoons and during the evening. We can provide hot or cold buffets or sit-down meals or we can quote you on specific types of food, such as pig roasts or bbq's.

We mainly use the large function rooms for parties as this has it’s own bar, dance floor and stage. It will accommodate about 120 people for a finger buffet and disco or between 60 and 80 for a sit-down meal and disco. We have recently started using the smaller Cavalier Bar for parties and this has proved very successful for parties of up to 40 people who would like a buffet and dancing. The room hire for the large function room is £50 and £20 for the Cavalier Bar, although we are offering either room free of charge for a function 40 or more people providing you have a buffet.

To give you some idea of the food we offer, please see our buffet menus on this web site. These are only guidelines and we are happy to provide a buffet to your taste and quote accordingly, just tell us what you want! We can provide a disco for your function and we even have some bands that can perform for you. Please let us know what type of entertainment you are looking for and we would be happy to help. Alternatively, if you already have your entertainment booked we are happy to welcome them to the Moat House.

Weddings

We have always tried to be flexible with weddings and keep the basic package as low as possible to you. We are happy to provide further services for you but we are aware that it is your day and you may already have certain things in place.

Our basic room hire for a wedding is £250 and this includes basic white cotton tablecloths. If you have a different colour scheme this may cost more. The cost covers bar hire and people to man the bar and basic preparation of the room and buffet tables. The only other costs that you will incur with us will be for the food and drink you buy. We can provide a wide range of welcome drinks, toasting wines, table wines and hot and cold menus for the day and the evening. We have a resident DJ (£150) but you are welcome to use your own entertainment should you prefer.

The most important part of the wedding is in the planning and although we are happy for you to look through the menus, it is important that we sit down together where you can tell us exactly how you would like the day to go, what your budget is and what you would like to eat and drink. We are happy to meet you as many times as you like as we understand that this is usually one of the most important events of your life.

Watch out for special price wedding deals in 2009 and 2010, you may manage to grab a bargain. We are holding a Wedding Fair on September 27th 2009.
